MEE-Supported Energy Auditing
Improvements to energy use bring companies and communities direct financial benefits, and cut environmental emissions caused by their operation. It’s possible to achieve savings even without making investments. The starting point for making energy savings is to have information on the present situation, energy saving potential and economical energy saving measures. The energy audit is the first step in making energy use efficient.
The Ministry of Employment and Economy (MEE) subsidizes energy auditing for the commercial and public buildings and industry and energy sectors. Motiva’s work includes monitoring results of MEE-subsidized energy audits, promotion and marketing, and developing auditing guidelines and procedures in close collaboration with the stakeholders.
Motiva runs an energy auditing follow-up system that compiles data on all energy audits and oversees the quality control of energy audit reporting. Motiva publishes examples of successful auditing projects so as to promote this work. Motiva also trains energy auditors and advises audit customers and auditors.
