District Heating Energy Audit

MEE-subsidized energy audits in the district heating sector are carried out in line with the implementation guidelines and table of contents of the model District Heating Energy Audit. The auditing model is designed to investigate ways to improve the efficiency of the output, transfer and distribution of district heating. It is also important to investigate possibilities to use forms of renewable energy and inspections on the possibilities to use waste heat from industry in the region.

A District Heating Audit contains three options:
  • A: The whole district heating network and the auditing of power plants linked to it
  • B: The auditing of peak load and stand-by heating centres and the district heating network when the basic load plants are in joint production and belong to the energy savings agreement of the power plant sector.
  • C: Option B supplements production system optimization on the condition that the amount of energy sold in the network must be above 16GW/a
