Other Energy Audits

Apart from MEE-subsidized energy audits there are energy audits intended for blocks of flats and terrace housing. Subsidies for these granted to the private sector by municipalities and for municipal housing stock by The Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland (ARA). The Ministry of Environment determines the total annual sum of subsidies.

The outline of the energy auditing model for blocks of flats was developed for use as an implementation guide for energy auditing supported by the ARA’s housing energy subsidy. The model covers the reporting on energy saving options concerning the heating, electricity and water systems of buildings. The model was updated in January 2005.

Support is available for refurbishment investments concerning the energy economy of housing, as long as the investment subsidy applications are based on energy audits or other energy inspections approved by the organization providing the subsidies.
