What Next After a Material Audit?Following a material audit the target company decides what measures to carry out immediately and which ones still need to be considered or have to wait for the necessary investment decisions to be made.
A material audit gives a good basis for making continual improvements by generating specific viewpoints and practical proposals to be carried out over a longer term.
The savings measures identified in the material audit should be linked to the management system, in order that they can be responded to and put into practice as efficiently and systematically as possible.
If a particular measure requires investment, it is possible to consider using the MASCO funding model.
After the material audit you can also carry out e.g. the following further assessments, if necessary:
- a regional material audit (mapping regional material flows and potential benefits in the company’s processes);
- a life cycle assessment of one of the company’s products (concidering the whole value chain);
- an energy audit / analysis; and
- more precise investment-related feasibility studies.
