4-11 MW wood chip combustion

Nurmijärven Sähkö Oy has three district bioenergy heat power plants, providing heat for the inhabitants of Nurmijärvi area. The power plants are of sizes 4, 8 and 11 MW, two of them utilizing fluidized bed combustion technology and one, grate firing technology. Wood chips and forestry residues are used as fuels in the plants. The boilers are equipped with systems to collect heat from combustion gases. There is also a 300 kW biogas boiler attached to the Klaukkala power plant.
