Subsidies for Motiva Energy Audits, Investments and ESCO Projects
Government subsidies may be granted to public or private sector organisations by Finland’s Ministry for Employment and the Economy to support various kinds of energy assessments and investments, including:- Motiva energy audits;
- investments in new technologies that will lead to energy-savings;
- investments increasing the use of renewable energy; and
- ESCO projects carried out in collaboration with recognised energy service companies (ESCOs).
Investments in energy-saving projects applying more conventional technologies may additionally be subsidised by up to 15 % if such projects are implemented in collaboration with approved energy service companies, or if the company or organisation concerned is involved in the government’s voluntary energy efficiency agreement scheme.
The Ministry of the Environment runs a parallel scheme providing subsidies for energy audits and energy-saving investments conducted for residential buildings. More information on these subsidies is available from local municipal authorities and the Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland (ARA).
