Active Learning – the Best Way to Learn!

AL log nettiThe Active Learning project aims to get pupils actively involved in saving energy and improving the effectiveness of energy use in schools. This should also result in savings in schools’ energy costs.

Activities are designed for pupils aged 6-12.

Best teaching ideas from around Europe

The project has compiled examples of practical teaching ideas that encourage active learning related to saving energy, the advantages of renewable energy resources, and the environmental impacts of transport.

These methods and materials have been tried and tested in at least ten schools in each of the countries participating in the project, with help from teachers who have provided feedback enabling the materials to be further improved.

Active Learning toolkits ready to use

Teachers can download toolkits containing the materials developed through the project from the project website. The website also includes the contact details for pilot schools to enable participant schools to compare their energy use data or find out more about how other schools have organised and benefited from these activities.
