The Solar Schools Forum project, run by the European Sustainable Energy Education Forum (ESEEF) during the years 2004-2006, was designed to support teaching related to renewable energy sources in many ways:
  • by encouraging teachers to cover renewable energy in their classes
  • by increasing pupils’ awareness of environmentally friendly forms of energy production
  • by helping interested educators and pupils to find further information and materials related to renewable energy sources
  • by networking schools around Europe to facilitate the exchange of ideas

The project has successfully collected information on:
  • inspiring examples of tried and tested teaching ideas
  • useful websites for teachers and pupils
  • ideas for suitable places to visit
  • teaching materials
This information was compiled from the following countries:

Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden & Switzerland.

European expertise on the teaching of energy issues

The European Sustainable Energy Education Forum (ESEEF) is a network set up to promote the integration of energy saving ideas and renewable energy issues into teaching of energy issues, by providing teachers, pupils and other people involved in environmental education with useful information, materials and contacts around Europe.
