The World Game – Every Choice Makes a Difference!

The World Game CD-rom is designed for schools to use in the context of education on consumer and environmental issues. Players must “save the world” by choosing alternatives that save energy and natural resources.

The aim of the game is to inform players about the impacts of their everyday consumer choices – and to teach them that every choice makes a difference. It can also help us all to get some idea of how our consumer behaviour affects our planet.

• Download the World Game
  Click on the link and choose "Save on hard disk". If you are using a broadband connection, downloading the file should take approximately 25-30 minutes.
  
  
• Unzip the ZIP package onto your hard drive, using WinZIP (or a comparable programme).
  The necessary files will be saved inside the folder "The World Game". You may instead wish to burn the contents of this folder onto a CD which you can then use to install and launch the game directly.
  
  
• Launch the programme by double-clicking on the "autorun" file.
  The programme gives you the options "Setup" or "Quickstart". Setup will install the game permanently in your programme files; Quickstart will launch the game without installing it.
  

Materials for teachers

A set of related teaching materials is available for the World Game. The materials include tips for activities related to the environmental impacts of consumption. The game and its related materials are available in three languages: Finnish, Swedish and English.
