Motiva Group
Motiva Oy is a state-owned company and an affiliate of the state administration. Motiva owns (100%) its subsidiaries Motiva Services Oy and Ympäristömerkintä Suomi Oy.
- Motiva Oy – sustainable development expert services for the state administration and the public sector.
- Motiva Services Oy – sustainable development expert services primarily for companies, municipalities, and third sector operators.
- Ympäristömerkintä Suomi Oy – administration of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and the EU Ecolabel in Finland.
Our role in the state administration
We are a company wholly owned by the state and a stakeholder unit of the state administration, i.e., an in-house operator. Our task is to provide sustainable development expert services to the state administration.
Our government clients can purchase the expert services they need through us without competitive tendering in accordance with the Public Procurement Act. The in-house arrangement is based on Section 15 of the Public Procurement Act, according to which the Act does not apply to purchases made by the state from its own affiliated unit.
Benefits of affiliated unit procurement for the state administration:
- The unit saves on labor resources when procurements can be handled without competitive tendering.
- Services tailored to the state administration, taking into account the requirements of the public sector.
- Scaling benefits when government agencies centralize
- Expertise that supports the development of public administration is readily available.
Responsibility and transparency
We publish an annual corporate responsibility report that describes the social impact of our operations. We also publish a report on the salaries and remuneration of the Board of Directors and management in accordance with the state’s ownership policy.
