Final Consumption of Energy in Agriculture

The next figure shows the final energy consumption of the agricultural sector in 2010 and 2024, and an analysis of factors which have affected the observed change in consumption (so-called decomposition analysis).

  • Final energy consumption in agriculture decreased by 1.3 TWh over the period.
  • Sector activity would have increased consumption by 0.6 TWh without other changes.
  • Other factors, including energy savings and structural changes, reduced consumption by 1.8 TWh.
