Carrying Out Savings Measures

The measures detailed in the reports are compiled into an implementation plan, by which recommendations are translated into actual energy savings. The auditors performing the energy audit can also often help in the practical realization of these measures.

Importance of regular follow-up

At the same time, the follow-up of various measures can be started concerning savings and costs, for instance by using monthly expenditure monitoring (dealing with energy consumption, operations and output and the follow-up of how they change). Only by following-up the impact of the measures it is possible to provide the right returns on the benefits gained by the energy audits.

Following the energy audit, it is good to hold regular follow-up meetings to look at the measures that have been carried out and how energy efficiency had developed. Initially, the follow-up meetings should be held frequently and then once a year to look at the most important issues affecting energy use. The energy audit can be updated at intervals of a few years by follow-up audits.
